EXECUTIVE PROFILES
Frank R. Buchanan, President, CCIM
Mr. Buchanan has overall responsibilty for the firms commercial leasing, brokerage and management functions. He has over 25 years experience in real estate development, brokerage, and asset management. Prior to starting MaKensay, Mr. Buchanan was a principal of Colliers Real Estate Services where he was responsible for the brokerage and management of their portfolio, and he negotiated the sale of several major downtown properties. Prior to joining Colliers, he was a Development Manager for Carma Developers a national real estate development company. Mr. Buchanan earned his B.A. in Business from Colorado College and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Washington. Mr. Buchanan is the designated Broker for MaKensay and has earned the CCIM professional designation. He served as a member of MPOG to help create a new vision for Seattle’s South Downtown neighborhood. Mr. Buchanan enjoys cutting through inefficient process to achieve his client’s goals.

Rosemary Rice, Senior Property Manager
Ms. Rice has managed historic properties in the Pioneer Square neighborhood for over 22 years. Prior to joining MaKensay Real Estate Services Inc, she was the senior property manager for Pioneer Sq. Properties where she was responsible for managing and leasing a large portfolio of historic buildings. She is experienced in both residential and commercial management and takes great pride in being proactive with her tenants and clients and in cultivating positive long term relationships. Rosemary has been active in business and community promotion through the Pioneer Square Community Council and has served on various neighborhood committees. Ms. Rice has earned the respect of everyone she works with. Rosemary was born and raised in Seattle and lives in West Seattle where she enjoys working in her garden. |

Sara Buchanan, Property Manager
Ms. Buchanan (no relation to Mr. Buchanan) has experience managing both high-rise buildings as well as low-rise office parks. Prior to joining MaKensay, Ms. Buchanan worked for LaSalle Partners as a Property Manager with management responsibilities for two Queen Anne office buildings and participatory-team management of a large high-rise. Prior to working for LaSalle, Ms. Buchanan worked for Prescott Developement and managed their urban parking garages and lots. Ms. Buchanan currently manages a portfolio of historic office and residential properties and is MaKensay's team leader for LEED certified management practices. Away from MaKensay, Ms. Buchanan enjoys hiking and biking.

Gigit Koh, Office and Accounting Manager
Ms. Koh is responsible for assisting several property managers with the daily management and coordination of a select group of properties. Ms. Koh also provides accounting functions, including bank deposits and accounts receivable functions for the properties that she helps manage. She interfaces directly with tenants, vendors and with our clients and oversees multiple property accounts. Ms. Koh is detail oriented and stays calm under multiple demands. Ms. Koh earned a degree in Computer Sciences in Singapore and also speaks both Mandarin Chinese and Teochew. Prior to joining MaKensay, Ms. Koh worked as the office manager and accounts receivable manager for a local frozen food company. Ms. Koh is detail oriented and precise, yet outgoing, resourceful, and thoughtful. Outside from MaKensay, Ms. Koh enjoys scuba diving, and kite surfing. |
Melissa G. Lutz, Accounting
Ms. Lutz is responsible for the daily office administration and accounting functions, including bank deposits and accounts payables for a large collection of properties. She interfaces directly with tenants, vendors and clients and is the central point of contact for these entities. Ms. Lutz also helps communicate with on-site personnel and coordinates repairs and maintenance with the building engineering staff. Ms. Lutz is adept at handling multiple tasks and keeping organized, focused and on task. Ms. Lutz understands the need for accuracy in everything she does, but she is also acutely aware that there is more to life than being precise.

Cheri L. VanderWel, Chief Financial Manager
Ms. VanderWel is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting and has over 20 years experience in Real Estate accounting. Prior to working with MaKensay Real Estate Services Inc., Ms. VanderWel installed property accounting software and trained students on the Skyline Real Estate Financial Reporting software, which MaKensay uses for its financial and accounting system. She has also worked on a contract basis for other commercial management firms doing financial and accounting reporting. Most recently Ms. VanderWel was the Controller for Synergy Construction, a $100 million dollar construction company. Cheri is competent in all phases of accounting and finance and her take charge/get it done attitude is contagious. Ms. VanderWel is at her best when working on complex and difficult issues and simplifying them into a clear and simple format. Cheri has a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University. |
Ron Reel, Senior Building Engineer
Mr. Reel is the lead enginner in charge of the 4 historic building portfolio including the Maynard Building, Grand Central Building, Seattle Quilt Building and the FX McRory's Building. Mr. Reel has earned the SMT and SMA certificates and has a IV Grade Boiler Licence and over 17 years in building maintenance. Mr. Reel has provided building engineering services for a variety of buildings including health care buildings, class A office buildings and historic office buildings. Mr. Reel is respected by all the building tenants and his clients that he works with, and he brings a wealth of knowledge to all of his tasks and responsibilities including working on all building systems. Away from his work responsibilities, Mr. Reel enjoys playing competitive softball.

Enrique Rodriguez, Senior Building Engineer
Mr. Rodriguez is the senior enginner for a diverse portfolio of buildings including both small and larger office and retail buildings. Mr. Rodriguez is in charge of instaling and servicing heat pump units at the Jefferson Building and maintaining a comfortable work environment for those tenants. He also provides general building engineering services at the other buildings including maintenance of all building systems. Mr. Rodriguez enjoys the interaction he has with his tenants and solving problems in an efficient manner. Away from his work responsibilities, Mr. Rodriguez enjoys restoring clasic cars as well as renovating his home. |
